Researching Stress and Anxiety for the FEMME Fitness Hub Blog (See more here!)…I was shocked to see how little this specific topic has been covered….
Yes…there were a million articles on stress, anxiety and it’s flow on effect for health. But what about speaking about the cause as to support prevention, rather than cure?
I’m speaking about DRAMA….not the good kind i.e. Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad.
Stress is killing us…slowly
Think about the following and whether you’ve experienced any of the following….
- Exhaustion
- Libido
- Digestion issues
- Skin and breakouts
- Memory and focus
- Weight gain
- Muscular soreness and tightness
- Respiratory issues….the list goes on!
Question…..How can we be our best if all of this is happening to us everyday?
The answer is you can’t….and you won’t be! Seems like Drama serves no one!
Stress comes and goes and challenges are what makes us grow as people, in relationships and in health.
Exercise and physical exertion stress your body and tells it shape up as the old you needs to capable of handling it. This is called “eustress” and is the good stress we feel when we’re excited or if not excited, have happy or positive thoughts associated with it.
Unfortunately though not all stress is good and as a result of continued bad stress, it can become chronic. This is where those annoying conditions and feelings come into play and in place of excitement and happiness, we feel dread and fear.
Back to the topic in specifics…..
Drama is killing us and slowly drowns us in stress and anxiety. It influences our mental and physical nature, our relationships with friends, family and coworkers. It creates distance, makes people remove themselves physically and mentally.
This is why in the FEMME Fitness Hub we never start with “just” exercise. Anyone can exercise, but not everyone can be happy.
We always start (And did again this 8 Week Challenge) with Mindset. Getting down to the real reason we want to achieve goals, why we are there, why we’re giving up more time from our families to better ourselves.
Lifestyle is all about growth and understanding yourself and why do what you do.
Finding your why, working in your own personal development and in turn building courage, not motivation to go out and achieve the things you “really” want and supporting other to do the same.
Have an Amazing Day!
P.S If you’re stressed and need someone to speak to please don’t wait and speak to a professional (Beyond Blue have a list here…)
